How it all beganIn 1995 Sue & Jim Farr made the decision to start ostrich farming. In the wake of the BSE crisis ostrich meat provided the answer to a healthy red meat which could be produced in the quiet countryside surrounding Gamston Wood Farm. After trading at the world famous Borough Market in London for over 16 years the decision was made to bring the focus of our activities back to our local customers.
Ostrich is a truly farm to fork operation and has formed the major part of our business. It has become obvious there is an appetite for freshly prepared, local traditional meats, packaged and presented to the customer using modern and hygienic methods.
